Butterfly Pretzels

I have been craving pretzels, so I decided I wanted to make some. But recently, while watching Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood with my child, we saw a butterfly. pretzel. So, I wanted to make some very badly. It was trial and error shaping them, but we figured it out quickly. They actually held up very well in the water bath and the oven.

We did the top loops first so we could make sure it was even and that the top of the wings would be bigger than the bottom part. We made dough that was supposed to yield 8 pretzels but the butterfly pretzels took about 1/4 of the dough to make. These are pretty easy to make with toddlers.
