Forging Harvest: Flowers

During the beginning of spring, we went outside every day collecting flowers that can be used medicinally. As pictured above, we collected bird’s eye speedwell. This can be used to detox and improve respiratory health. As with anything, it needs to be used in moderation because it is a diuretic.

We also collected a lot of henbit and purple dead nettles. Although we left a lot of spots for this to grow wildly for the bees, we also gave a lot of it to our chickens. They produced the most beautiful orange yolks during this time. Lastly, we collected white clovers, red clovers, and dandelions.
