I love flowers, but when we got married, I especially loved peonies. Unfortunately, they were not in season when we got married. So, every year after, my husband bought me a peony plant so I could always have them in season. The peonies thrive with very little care. It is mostly just about cleaning the area up after they die.

Another flower we planted was hydrangeas. I love them but rarely pick them to bring inside. We have several rose bushes but ultimately pulled out most of them and only left one.

I usually grow zinnias for the bees even if I don’t plan to cut them. But they are super easy to grow and very pretty!

Last year, I grew strawberry blonde sunflowers, which were very beautiful. However, they attract a lot of ants.

These are pretty easy to grow but they get very tall, and can be difficult to cut. After attempting to cut one down that was no less than 8ft tall, the flower fell on my head and i got ants all over my body. Not a big fan of that, but I did grow more this year because they are pretty to see outside. Overall, I love flowers but cut flowers do tend to attract ants. So I will probably always continue to leave most of my flowers outside.
